Cumbria County Council - Website standards review
The project issues
The Council had recently implemented a new Content Management System (CMS), but did not meet the Level AA accessibility target in the 2005 Better Connected report. Socitm Consulting was asked to review the Council’s website and make recommendations for improvement.
The Socitm Consulting solution
Socitm Consulting undertook a review of the Council’s website and in consultation with the Better Connected analysis prepared a report recommending improvements in accessibility, usability, readability and intuitiveness for implementation by the Council’s web team.
The benefits to the client
With our extensive experience in developing accessible and usable websites, we were able to support the Council to develop its website according to best practice guidelines and improve the effectiveness of online service delivery.
