ICT strategic review
The project issues
The Council had undergone a number of departmental re-organisations and recognised there was a need to review the structure and quality of the ICT Strategy and Service and their ability to support the Council in meeting its strategic objectives. The Council was also facing a number of challenges around potential unitary status and transformational government which needed flexible ICT support. Socitm Consulting was asked to undertake an objective audit of the ICT function and make recommendations for improvement.
The Socitm Consulting solution
We conducted a baseline audit of the current structure and functions of the Council’s ICT Service, based on best practice guidelines, and identified its strengths and weaknesses. We then used this to develop a series of recommendations for the Council as a basis for developing a new ICT strategy.
The benefits to the client
With our expertise in ICT strategic development and review, we were able to assist the Council in developing its ICT strategy to align with its wider objectives and future challenges including becoming a transformational organisation. Our recommendations will ensure the ICT Service is capable of providing robust but flexible support to the Council in improving customer service delivery.
