e-procurement strategy
The project issues
The council had documented most of its procurement strategy and had generated a number of reports /documents that reflected its intentions for e-procurement. The problem was that they were running out of time and needed to pull everything together to present to directors and members.
A Socitm consultant working as an Interim Manager with Oxford City Council recommended that they involve experienced consultants from Socitm Consulting.
The Socitm Consulting solution
We made two consultants available: one experienced in procurement and business strategy, and the other an expert on e-procurement. We met with the key officers involved and they provided us with all the relevant documents. Working together the two consultants assimilated the information and the first draft e-procurement strategy was presented to the client within four working days.
Three more elapsed days and the task was completed.
The benefits to the client
Making use of a Socitm consultant freed up the client organisation to get the strategy written within the timeframe and get the day job done.
