Technical Manager recruitment support
The project issues
Scarborough Borough Council wished to recruit a Technical Manager.
They required a consultant with technical expertise to challenge the candidates' knowledge in certain areas such as Novell networking.
The Socitm Consulting solution
We reviewed material provided by the Council on the scope of the post including IT Section structure, Tech Manager's Person Spec and Job Description and a PowerPoint presentation of the Council's current infrastructure and a proposed plan for moving it forward.
We drew up a set of questions for candidates to test their knowledge.
We attended the interviews over two days.
We analysed the candidates' responses.
We made recommendations regarding the appointment.
The benefits to the client
The Council was able to get impartial and specialised assistance in recruiting for a key technical position, and adopted our recommendations.
