Corporate intranet specifications

 The project issues
The Council’s existing intranet had been in use for some time and was in need of updating. The Council wanted a user friendly, Council-wide intranet that could fully deliver more effective internal communications. Socitm Consulting was asked to produce specifications against best practice guidelines. 

The Socitm Consulting solution
We produced specifications for a new corporate intranet using our extensive knowledge of the structure and implementation of Council intranets and of the Better Connected guidelines. The specification covered functionality and site structure and included requirements for a document library and the incorporation of Microsoft SharePoint 2007 software.

The Council are in the process of implementing the specifications.

The benefits to the client
With our expertise in Council intranet best practice functionality, we were able to draw up specifications for the Council to implement an intranet fully able to deliver effective corporate-wide communications and support improved working practices.
