Regional disaster recovery strategic review

The project issues
The Heads of IT in seven public authorities in West Yorkshire jointly commissioned a major strategic review to assess and benchmark the current status of IT Disaster Recovery Planning in the region. Our responsibilities included the production of an influential report which highlighted the strategic options for developing joint capabilities to achieve regional resilience.

The Council was in the process of contracting a Strategic Partner for a range of services including ICT but required an interim disaster recovery solution to minimise current risk. Socitm Consulting provided a specification and assisted with procurement of a solution, thereby providing contingencies to assist the Council in providing business continuity for critical IT services during this transitional period.

Business Continuity Management Plan

Ealing Homes
Ealing Homes has a comprehensive Business Continuity Management Planning framework in place following expert guidance from Socitm Consulting. The Business Continuity Plan identifies Recovery Time and Recovery Point Objectives for mission-critical capabilities, while highlighting single-points-of failure and vulnerabilities. It also provides an incident management framework for the whole organisation to British Standard BS 25999-1:2006. The Plan will ensure that Ealing Homes can continue to provide an acceptable level of services to customers and partners regardless of any threat or disruption to its infrastructure or operations.
