Web vision and strategy

We have well-developed frameworks to help you to develop a vision for how the website will help the council and its partners achieve their objectives, and to develop a strategy for the web. Based on a 20-point checklist, it takes you through a rigorous process for defining the web strategy in such a way as to ensure its alignment with the corporate vision and priorities, and with other key corporate strategies - the customer service strategy, information management strategy, ICT strategy, property and accommodation strategy.

Business strategy

Developing a business strategy is a fundamental part both of achieving the vision that the council sets for itself, and for achieving the Council of the Future. The business strategy addresses what the organisation (possibly in conjunction with its partners) has to do to achieve the outcomes which the vision describes.

Vision for the future

"What the Council will look like to a customer in 3-5 years’ time. A vision that is specific and measurable, and outcome focused"

e-procurement strategy

Client name:
Oxford City Council

The project issues
The council had documented most of its procurement strategy and had generated a number of reports /documents that reflected its intentions for e-procurement. The problem was that they were running out of time and needed to pull everything together to present to directors and members.

A Socitm consultant working as an Interim Manager with Oxford City Council recommended that they involve experienced consultants from Socitm Consulting.

Independent strategic advice to elected Members

Client name:
London Borough of Hackney
Elected Members at the London Borough of Hackney have been able to align the Council’s ICT strategy with its overall policy objectives thanks to expert guidance from Socitm Consulting. Using our expertise in the assessment and benchmarking of ICT services, Socitm Consulting was able to help Members to review progress against service targets and compared with peer organisations, and to develop a forward strategy for ICT that focuses on customer service delivery improvement rather than technology.

Corporate mobile and flexible working business case

Client name:
London Borough of Bromley
The London Borough of Bromley has a business case for implementing mobile and flexible working following expert support from Socitm Consulting. We developed a mobile and flexible working business case that included the impact on the Council’s accommodation strategy, a Service Cost Benefit Analysis and the technological requirements and ICT implications. As a result, the Council has a detailed analysis of the costs and benefits of implementing mobile and flexible working, and the tools to analyse and develop further efficiency gains in the future.
