Preparing the way for social care
Business Case for Social Care IT System
Socitm Consulting helped the London Borough of Sutton (LBS) to transform its Adult and Children’s Social Care IT Service to meet the needs of the Transforming Social Care Agenda.
LBS recognised that to meet these requirements, they needed to ensure that the IT service provided to both Adult and Childen’s Social Care Services was adequate for current and future needs. There was some dissatisfaction with the current system and support and doubt that it would be able to help them meet the agenda.
Voice and data services - achieving significant cost reductions
Socitm Consulting help LBS to achieve a significant reduction in the future costs of their voice and data services amounting to an actual reduction in the contractually agreed prices of £ 78,000 over 5 years.
Enterprise architecture as a key element of the ICT strategy
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) uses Enterprise Architecture Principles as a key component of their IS/ICT strategy.

The project issues
The London Borough of Waltham Forest undertook a major change management programme, a crucial element of which was the procurement of a new computer system for its social services department. Capturing the requirements for the new system, articulating and verifying them effectively and writing the procurement specification needed due care and diligence.

Desktop procurement
The project issues
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) undertook an OJEC tendering process for the supply of PCs and laptops to refresh their estate of some 4400 PCs, as part of a high profile XP project. Socitm Consulting won a competitive tender to QA the process and ensure the Council followed the correct procedures and achieved best value.
Social Services system implementation review
Revenues and Benefits best practice survey
The project issues
The London Borough of Merton commissioned us to conduct a market research survey to help them understand how local authorities that perform well in handling Revenues and Benefits achieve this. The survey would gather data concerning the implementation and use of Revenues and Benefits systems and uncover plans, issues and obstacles encountered by UK local authorities in this area.
The survey results would be used to inform discussion within the London Borough of Merton concerning its implementation of Revenues and Benefits software.
